On January 8th, 2010, on a sunny afternoon, ISW warmly welcomed Deputy Mayor Hua Beya (华博雅), along with the director of city school management, Ding  Xuchu (丁旭初), Deputy Director Xu Lixin (许立新) and other leaders from city school management. First, Principal Schuhmacher took Mayor Hua on a tour of the school and viewed some classes. At the fourth grade class, Mayor Hua kindly talked to one Korean student. She asked him whether he likes China and enjoys school in China, how long he has been in China, and so on.  Soon after, Mayor Hua received the school report by Principal Schuhmacher.

Mayor Hua highly appreciates what ISW has achieved since it was established two and half years ago. She expressed that she was deeply impressed by the school environment, classroom set up and decoration and excellent teaching.  In addition, she said there are many things other Wuxi schools can learn from ISW.  She emphasizes that, from now on, in order to let more people know ISW and attract even more foreigners’ children to ISW, the city government will fully support the growing need of ISW and use all their capabilities to extend the name of ISW in Wuxi and its neighboring areas. Mayor Hua also said the city of Wuxi needs a high quality international school.  This is not only to fulfill the urgent need of a growing and developing city, but also an outstanding international school will enhance and promote the rapid development of the city.

We believe that, upon the great support and promotion by the city government and city school management, ISW is going to grow rapidly and will be a highlight in Wuxi.  ISW will continue to contribute to the achievement of the Wuxi city government 1000 plan.
