Our History
The Wuxi Oriental International School was established in the Wuxi New District by the Wuxi government in 2002 to provide a quality education to the children of foreigners living in Wuxi and surrounding areas. In 2006 Leadership Development International, an American company, was asked to take over management of the school resulting in the establishment of the International School of Wuxi which began classes in August of 2007.
The International School of Wuxi was set up to provide a North American educational program for the children of expatriates. Classes began in August of 2007 in the former Wuxi Oriental International School building on XiShi Road in Wuxi's New District.
ISW Today
ISW now has over 20 foreign teachers and 27 Chinese staff members. The current enrollment of the school is 139 students from 14 different countries and regions. Students participate in extra-curricular activities such as art, music, chess, table-tennis, volleyball, basketball, soccer and baking. Students from grades 6-10 compete in ISC tournaments for volleyball, basketball and soccer. They also participate in the annual ISC choral concert in Tianjin.
